The Capri Spring School on Transport in Nanostructures 2013
---
Capri, April 07 - April 14, 2013.
---

This one week spring school will provide several three to four hour lectures by leading experts supplemented by a few shorter seminars. The year 2013 school will address spin transport in low-dimensional systems. The speakers will give graduate level presentations introducing to state-of-the-art methods and techniques featuring the key issues of the field of spin transport. While the school is primarily aimed at instructing PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers, more senior scientists who want to acquaint themselves with the subject of the school are also welcome.

The number of participants will be limited to 35 students. To participate, please fill out the application form on this webpage before December 10, 2012.

Lecturers

  • Tomasz Dietl (Warsaw): Spin-related transport phenomena in low dimensional magnetic semiconductors
  • Karsten Flensberg (Copenhagen): Spins and spin-orbit coupling in carbon nanotubes
  • Tomas Jungwirth (Prague) Spin Hall and spin-torque phenomena
  • Jansaku Nitta (Sendai): Spin transport affected by spin-orbit interaction
  • Felix von Oppen (Berlin): Majorana fermions in spin-orbit coupled quantum wires
  • Klaus Richter (Regensburg): Spin-dependent transport in mesoscopic systems
